I absolutely hated this book. It was not horror in the slightest. It was, in all honestly, women’s fiction about mothers and daughters which you know, cool if you go into a book knowing that and wanting to read that. I went into this book expecting horror thanks to the genre and the fact that this was nominated for those goodreads end of year awards. Now I know I can’t trust a single thing goodreads nominates. This was absolutely boring. It didn’t make sense. The main character Meredith was unlikeable and nonsensical. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because of the Judith chapters, which were the only good ones. God, I am enraged at having wasted my life on this. AND THE writing itself, apart from the story, wasn’t even good!
