Again, spoilers for books 1 and 2 of the series.
I finished Scarlet Angel by S.T. Abby and started reading the next book in the series before writing my review. It was a serious fuck-up because all I can do right now is that about information I just learned in the next installment which, spoiler alert, will be getting five stars.
Book 3 marks the pre-climax of the series. Things are starting to unravel. We’re getting close to pivotal moments and it is just too exciting. There are too many instances in this book where I have to put it down because I’m just so nervous about what is going to happen, despite ‘knowing’ what must happen.
Truth be told, when we added Hadley to the mix, I wasn’t sure where I stood with her. I was nervous. I thought for sure she was going to work against Lana and try to come between her and Logan. Now, I’m really liking her. I wonder how this will continue. Will Lana and Hadley form an actual friendship? A bond? Or will it be more collateral damage for Logan when the truth comes out?
Logan continues to be blindly and completely in love with Lana. It is too sweet. To have this on the forefront when we know what Lana is capable of, what she’s doing, but also what has been done to her is heartbreaking. He is such an ‘upstanding’ individual, that whenever he does learn the truth, it will be destructive. Either his career will be destroyed, his reputation, his relationship, or his psyche. There is no way Logan can come out of this unscathed now, which makes the tragedy of this series even sweeter.
Mindf*ck is a series that just continually builds and gets better. If you’ve read the first two in the series, definitely pick up Scarlet Angel by S.T. Abby because it just gets juicer. It just builds that trauma for the when the great tragic downfall happens. I can’t wait!
