I have never been more excited to receive an advanced copy than I was when I was chosen to review the Scared Sexy Collection from Amazon Original Stories! I am a sucker (all puns intended) for monster romance, and ooof this hit the spot 😏 I loved this collection a LOT more than the Under the Mistletoe collection. Every single book in this six book collection was FUN and STEAMY! And considering this will be available for free for prime and KU members (both audiobook versions and digital version) I absolutely will recommend right off the bat to run and pick these stories up on September 23rd!

Okay, honestly, Hot for Slayer by Ali Hazelwood was a little slow for me to get into, but the second it clicked, boy I was gone! I may have cried, which is insane considering this is only 94 pages. I absolutely am in LOVE with Lazlo and I may have already re-read this twice. Their relationship is cute, Lazlo has my heart, and it was touchingly spicy.

Falling by Christina Lauren went by way too fast and I was way too invested in this little world they created. I don’t believe I’ve read Christina Lauren before, but now I’m excited to give them a stronger glance. Brigan was so funny to me because he was just so resigned that he couldn’t even fathom the hope that Cat would be The One. I was so sad that it ended just as it was starting, but obviously, these are all meant to be short morsels. The smut was good and Cat was just too cute.

Despite having so many books on my TBR by her, Spicy Little Curses by JT Geissinger became the first story I’ve read by this author. I enjoyed it, it was sexy and adventurous. I loved Dax (what a sex bomb,) and I absolutely related to Petra’s skepticism. That said, I feel like the romance wasn’t as strongly felt as the previous two in this collection. It tasted more like a teaser of more to come. I really hope and want more to come. If this is related to any series or will become a series, I will be so excited!Despite having so many books on my TBR by her, Spicy Little Curses by JT Geissinger became the first story I’ve read by this author. Ruby Dixon does not miss! Space Vampire was my absolute favorite of this collection. Absolutely stellar! I loved Dana! She refused to be pessimistic and was doggedly determined to survive, regardless of what she had to do. Vlad is such a murder puppy. Hot, with a tail and vampire fangs and an…. appendage that has become synonymous of what I look forward to in Dixon’s books. Dana and Vlad’s connection was absolutely sweet and sexy. They fit together so well and it’s so hot. It just gave me LIFE!

Just like earlier, Katee Robert is an author I have books sitting on my TBR to read but haven’t had a chance to yet so Beautiful Nightmare is my introductory read. SUPER CUTE! Yes, steamy, but I loved Gemma and Caleb seemed so sweet, just a dreamboat! I do think it was a little predictable, but that’s okay considering this is only 52 pages.

I think, sadly, My Boyfriends Are All Monsters by Kimberly Lemming might have been my least favorite of the bunch, despite being the one I was most looking forward to! Tentacles? My favorite (even more than even knotting tbh!) Lucy was fun and okay. I loved The One Who Waits so much. I just, I guess, am not a big fan of reverse harem. I didn’t feel the emotional connection and the spice was a lot and felt rushed, as though she was trying to fit in as many monster kinks as she could and it just didn’t hit for me. But if you’re only in it for the spice, you’ll love this!
